A Message from our Manager
"We were delighted to achieve a ‘good’ rating in our recent CQC inspection and we thank all our staff for helping us to maintain consistently high standards of care. We place great importance at Pinewood on staff training and actively encourage staff members to attend courses as part of their ongoing personal development. For those healthcare assistants without NVQs, we offer support in attaining the Care Certificate.
We are committed to offering an ‘open door’ policy at Pinewood and hope that residents and family members will feel confident to approach me or any of my nurse team at any time if there are any problems or concerns.
We are committed to ensuring that the care received at Pinewood is based on empathy, respect and dignity and we fully endorse the Dignity core principles which value the uniqueness of every individual. Whilst all our staff adhere to these principles, we are happy to have designated staff members acting as Dignity Champions in an overseeing role.
We place great importance on meaningful activity and encourage participation in our weekly programme of entertainment and activities wherever possible. We have a number of regular volunteers and attend community events wherever possible. We also offer one to one time, designed to suit personal interests and preferences.
We are proud of our home and the care that we offer. Prospective residents and family members are free to come and visit us at any time - no appointment is necessary."
